SUMER SCHOOL:

Established by Risaldar Pannalal Ji Chauhan, Sri Sumer Upper Primary School began as Arya Kanya Pathshala with the efforts of the Rawna Rajput society, which provided the building and oversight.

As the student numbers grew, Sumer Kanya Balika Vidyalaya (Hindi medium) for girls was founded. Later, Shri Sumer Upper Primary School was established as the English medium. This institution, under the auspices of the Shri Rawna Rajput Sabha Jodhpur, continues to honour the legacy of Maharaja Ummed Singh and Maharaja Sumer Singh. Today, Principal Heena Singh upholds this tradition by offering free education, guided by the wisdom of her ancestors.

TOORJI KA JHALRA:

This ancient stepwell is a magnificent example of the city’s rich architectural and cultural heritage. Constructed in 1740 by Maharani Tanwar Ji, the wife of Maharaja Abhay Singh Ji, Toorji Ka Jhalra stands as a testament to the ingenuity and artistic vision of the past era. The stepwell, with its intricately carved sandstone steps and impressive depth, was originally designed as a vital water source and social gathering place, playing a crucial role in the community’s daily life.

Baolis, or step-wells were traditionally built by the women of royal families as part of an ancestral tradition of water conservation. These structures not only served as essential water reservoirs but also as communal spaces where women would gather, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. Today, Toorji Ka Jhalra remains one of the favorite destinations for historical tourists visiting Jodhpur, and it continues to embody the spirit of Jodhpur’s cultural legacy.

GHANTA GHAR:

Originally built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in the 19th century, Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) is a historical landmark that stands as a testament to Rajasthan’s royal past. This iconic structure not only offers a panoramic view of the Blue City but also immerses visitors in the vibrant everyday life of Jodhpur. From the Vibrant local life surrounding the Sardar Market, Ghanta Ghar stands as more than just a historic monument. It is a living, breathing slice of Jodhpur’s rich cultural tapestry, where tradition and modernity coexist in perfect harmony.

MANDORE GARDENS:

This historic garden, dating back to the 6th century, served as the capital of the Marwar region. It houses impressive cenotaphs, also known as chhatris, dedicated to the Marwar rulers from the 17th and 18th centuries. The Hall of Heroes and the temple of 33 crore gods stand as testaments to the region’s rich cultural and religious history, adorned with intricate sculptures and carvings. Mandore Garden beautifully encapsulates the essence of Rajasthan’s royal heritage, offering a tranquil retreat amidst its historical grandeur.
